VRX, Inc. provided turnkey design, construction management, program management, and facilities management services to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for minor and major projects throughout the United States.
Facilities Management: VRX staff directly supported the CBP by providing maintenance repair and operations (MRO) expertise and guidance for the establishment of a new CBP MRO Pilot Program at El Paso, Texas, and Buffalo, New York. VRX developed the future MRO organization’s Operating Business Plan, MRO staff roles and responsibilities, organizational vision, mission and development of best practices and processes. VRX developed a detailed activity sequencing manual, utilized as a project management leading practice across the CBP organization. VRX’s efforts helped streamline the project delivery and contractor procurement processes.
Construction-Phase Services: In this role, VRX staff managed all project activities including:
• Space acquisition
• Construction contract procurement
• Construction documents development
• Value engineering
• Risk assessment
• Energy sustainability
• Project commissioning and acceptance
Construction/Program Management: VRX also managed new CBP construction and/or technology installations for 13 land ports of entry in the Lower Rio Grande Valley/Laredo, Texas Sector. VRX’s primary role was to ensure the use of current design standards via design and construction reviews while coordinating with all project stakeholders (including USACE, GSA, city, and county representation) and the end-users for each port.
Training: Our staff was responsible for the CBP Euless, Texas Field Office Facilities PMO system training. Staff has completed fast-track design and construction of several mission-critical CBP facilities.
