VRX, Inc. is performing program management services for Southwest Airlines (SWA) on their Fuel Storage Facilities and Pipeline project at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston, Texas. VRX began work on the project in March 2022 and the estimated completion is set for 2024.
This $50M project includes eliminating bulk storage of jet fuel at the east tank farm and instead providing a new pipeline feed that will allow fuel to be pushed directly from an off-site pumping facility to the east tank farm, across the airfield to the west tank farm. The west tank farm will be upgraded to include the construction of three new, approximately 35,800 bbl tanks within the existing west tank farm site.
As part of our program management services, VRX coordinates daily with Southwest Airlines, the contractor, the architect, stakeholders, and the Houston Airport System. We also provide overall project management, perform full-time on-site construction inspection, assist with environmental issues, oversee the project schedule and budget, and review pay applications and change orders.
