VRX, Inc. is providing prime construction management services for US 59 in Cleveland, Texas, for the TxDOT Beaumont District.
Our work on the US 59 project, with an approximate $102M construction value, began in May 2019. The project limits extend 4.6 miles from the south end of the Cleveland Bypass to Fostoria Road. US 59 is being converted to a freeway facility and widened to 6 main lanes with frontage roads. Construction work also includes full-depth repair, overlay, spall repair, striping, and illumination upgrades.
VRX is the prime Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) consultant. Our work includes ensuring construction is performed per plans and specifications; reviewing shop drawings and submittals; handling contractor’s claims; assessing the need for change orders; negotiating and preparing change orders as needed; reviewing construction schedules; preparing as-built plans; handling utility conflicts, and coordinating with TxDOT and utility owners; coordinating with area communities and TxDOT to inform the public about upcoming traffic switches and lane closures; and maintaining project records, among other responsibilities. VRX is also performing comprehensive environmental compliance services.
