VRX provided comprehensive environmental compliance management for both the design and construction phases of the $1.4B 30-mile 35Express (IH 35E) design-build reconstruction project in Dallas and Denton Counties.
VRX was responsible for identifying all environmental permits/approvals, including seven NEPA documents, four USACE Section 404 permit authorizations, nine storm water and wastewater permits, mitigation for the loss of USACE parkland and wildlife habitat, eight areas of soil and/or groundwater contamination, a new bridge over Lewisville Lake and noise barriers. We also provided a quality control environmental review of all design plans.
Ongoing construction-phase services included weekly SWPPP inspections, migratory bird nest surveys, daily field monitoring, and constant coordination with the contractor, TxDOT, and regulatory agencies.
