VRX takes pride in giving back to its communities through contributions, memberships and volunteer activities in support of several local, professional and charitable groups.
For example, VRX recently donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to a local nursing center as well as a local fire department to help fight the spread of the novel coronavirus.
We also recently assisted a local Girl Scout who is working to earn her Gold Award. We helped her with donations to assemble care kits for families of patients at local children’s hospitals. Sometimes the families rush to the hospital and haven’t planned for an overnight stay. The Girl Scout’s care kits with travel-sized toiletry items will make their stay a little more comfortable. VRX ended up filling an entire car trunk with care kit donations, after the company matched employees’ donations 2 to 1! One VRX engineer raised the bar in a challenge to the entire staff by personally filling the box with donations on Day 1 of the donation drive! The competition took off from there!
In addition, VRX often partners with our clients to help the community. In the summer of 2018, VRX joined Archer Western Herzog and Trinity Metro — the TEXRail team — to support Trinity Habitat for Humanity by building a house in Fort Worth. The team, which included VRX Senior Environmental Scientist Cy Reichert, worked several days to provide a place for a family in need to call their home while giving back to our community.
VRX helps the community in other ways as well, including, but not limited to, donating to the following organizations:
- CMAA Scholarship Fund
- AAAEA Scholarship Fund
- Society of American Military Engineers Scholarship Fund
- Regional Hispanic Contractors Association Scholarship Fund
- World Autism Month — Autism Speaks
- Operation Once in a Lifetime
- Kowboys for Kids
- Wounded Warriors Toy Drive
- MATHCOUNTS
- Backpacks & Supplies for Dallas Independent School District
